Trent Rockets take on Oval Invincibles in an exciting clash that will more or less decide which team finishes where at the end of the group stage.
The top 3 is still undecided with only one match to go, and depending on how their final fixture goes a lot of teams could still come into contention for finishing inside top 3. Oval Invincibles, the two-time champions, will be hoping to finish the league stage strong with a win and carry some momentum into the eliminator.
Trent Rockets, who’re still in it with a chance to feature in the eliminator, will be hoping to put their best foot forward to stop Invincibles progressing. Defeating Oval Invincibles is not an easy feat by any means, and Trent Rockets will know all about it.
They have yet to overcome Oval Invincibles in their two meetings so far, and they’ll be eager to stride out to the middle with a point to prove.

A challenging start to this year’s Hundred competition saw Trent Rockers women stumble their way to just one victory in their first four matches. This rocky start put them under a lot of pressure to quickly string together a few wins to stay in contention.
Thankfully, they managed to bounce back with three wins in a row including dominating performances against London Spirit and Southern Brave. That was possible mainly because of their batting line-up gaining confidence.
English star Nat Sciver-Brunt and Aussie allrounder Ash Gardner led the way with the bat, making crucial contribution to their team’s cause including the win against Birmingham Phoenix, where they not only scored essential runs in the middle order but also took four wickets between them. But they’ve issues to straighten out in their batting.
Early dismissals of key players like Grace Scrivens and Bryony Smith in the first few matches gave headaches to the team and management, but Grace Scrivens seems to have struck form of late. On the bowling side, the unit never looked in trouble. Alana King, Heather Graham, Nat Sciver Brunt and Ash Gardner form the core group of bowlers for Rockets, and they’ve been delivering the goods, helping Rockets win even close games.
They need a win in their last game to finish in top 4 and qualify for the knockouts, so their key players Sciver-Brunt, Gardner, King, and Graham will need to be on top of their game come Wednesday.

A decent campaign that saw them win 4 games and tie one has put Oval Invincibles women in a strong position to qualify for the knockouts. A 82-run loss to Northern Superchargers in their third match of the season meant their NRR took a bit of a battering.
Yes, they’d rue about the lost opportunity against London Spirit where they squandered an opportunity to get over the line needing 35 runs off the last 40, and had to settle for a tie.
But they’ve done well to march on steadily without losing track of the first goal in sight: progressing through to the next stage.
A win here could take them to 11 points, earning them a second-place finish ahead of the knockouts. And that’s exactly what they’ll be hoping to achieve going into this last league fixture.
A top-heavy batting unit like theirs featuring the likes of Chamari Athapaththu, Lauren Winfield-Hill, Alice Capsey and Marizanne Kapp hadn’t left their lower middle order much to do.
Paige Scholfield, who initially opened the innings alongside Winfield-Hill but later slid down the order, has scored crucial runs down the order. On the bowling front, only Amanda-Jade Wellington and Marizanne Kapp have looked threatening.
Ryana Macdonald Gay has done well in a few matches, but she’d be hoping to have a bigger impact going forward.

With four 130s and a late 120 score, this pitch has been hard to score runs on. But Rockets proved otherwise that you can score big if you get off to a good start, knock the ball around through the middle phase, preserve your wickets, anbd finish with a flourish. As they demonstrated the other day against London Spirit, any score around 160 will be hard to chase down. As for weather, light rains are forecast early in the day. If it doesn’t get too sunny during the latter part of the day, there could be moisture trapped in the wicket and that’s good news for the bowlers on either side.

The match will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham- a venue that the hosts have found a little tricky this season, with just 1 win in 3 matches.
Win toss, opt to bat first, put runs on the board, bowl to plan and let the chasing team play catch-up with the scoreboard pressure. Many teams have used this exact template well to their advantage to come out victorious, and we guess the team winning toss tomorrow will be thinking along similar lines.
A win for either side will guarantee their place, although Oval Invincibles, by way of their higher points tally and the edge they’ve over Rockets with a superior head to head, are in a great spot to pick up a win and progress straight to finals.
