Bahrain are coming into this tournament with great confidence after winning the Malaysia Open T20I Challenge recently. The skipper will be disappointed with the top-order’s performance in the last game.
Only one of the top 4 was able to score double digits. UAE, on the other hand, cruised to a 7-wicket win over Kuwait as they chased down 179 runs in just 17.3 Overs. This was after UAE lost 3 for 26 in the powerplay which included skipper Muhammad Waseem and number 3 batter Tanish Suri out for golden ducks.
Both UAE and Bahrain will be eager to improve their batting returns after the top-order’s failure in their recent outing. It is a great pitch for batters and if they survive the early movement, they can build a big score.

Muhammad Waseem is the key player in this lineup. So for UAE to win the match after losing him for a first-ball duck is a great achievement. Alishan Sharafu’s unbeaten 90 along with Asif Khan making 74 off 48 with 6 sixes at number 5 is great news for UAE going ahead in the tournament.
This shows that they’ve got more than a few reliable match-winners in the side. There is great potential in this batting lineup and the recent win should be enough to garner confidence.
As they go up against a quality opposition like Bahrain, the skipper will be hoping to find his rhythm and also expect Suri to return to form. These two can change the game with some quality striking at the top.
In the lower order, there is Ayan Afzal Khan and Basil Hameed who can score some crucial runs towards the death. However, the expectations will be from Asif Khan to be the match-finisher for UAE.
With the ball, Basil Hameed and Ali Naseer picked up 3 wickets each for the UAE while Akif Raja was the most expensive with 23 runs from 1 Over. Going into this match, Junaid Siddique will be expected to deliver early wickets.

Bahrain lost by a narrow margin of 3 runs while chasing 178 runs against Oman in their opening game of the tournament. Nevertheless, there is a lot to improve on in both departments.
The bowlers could only pick 3 wickets and failed to break partnerships. Ali Dawood and Abdul Majid were the only ones to have a good economy and also pick a wicket each.
Most of the others failed to deliver breakthroughs when the team needed them the most. Sarfaraz Ali and Sathaiya Veerapathiran need to quickly turn things around and improve their bowling returns. Ali went for 53 runs without a wicket.
Considering the nature of this pitch, we understand, it will be quite challenging for the bowlers, but they should be pushing for wickets even if they go for plenty of runs.
Openers Umer Toor and Sarfaraz Ali were out cheaply and that surely puts a lot of pressure in a run chase. Imran Ali Butt at number 3, skipper Haider Butt and Ahmer Bin Nasir at 5 and 6 were among the top contributors with the bat.
This is good news considering that the middle-order came to the rescue and led Bahrain so close to victory after they had lost 3 for 22 in the powerplay. Just like the opposition, Bahrain too has potential in their middle-order.
Haider Butt (c), Sohail Ahmed, Ahmer Bin Nasir, Rizwan Butt, Imran Ali Butt (wk), Ali Dawood, Imran Anwar, Abdul Majid Malik, Sathaiya Veerapathiran, Sarfaraz Ali, Umer Toor

It looks like a belter of pitch. A batting paradise. On a good day, the batters should be able to make even more than what they did in their last outings. However, there is something on offer for the bowlers as well. But as the match progresses, the wickets get better to bat on and scoring becomes easier. The weather will be mostly cloudy with a high of 32 degrees Celsius on the match day in Al Ameerat.
Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 2) in Al Amerat will be the venue for the UAE vs Bahrain, 6th match of Group B. It seems to be a great venue for batting and there are a lot of runs on offer here. A 180+ 1st innings score will be a competitive total and that’s what the team batting first should be eyeing.
Both teams have certain issues with the bat and if they are put to bat first, the bowling team can exploit these issues with the new, moving ball. Chasing should not be a huge task on this surface and we reckon both teams will be looking to bowl first.
There is no clear winner between these two equally matched sides. There is great potential in both batting lineups with more than one reliable batter who can turn the game on its head on their best day. As a result, we expect this to be a close contest with UAE slightly ahead in our match prediction.
