Unlike in the Women's Super Smash, there is no clear leader in the tournament at this early stage with Northern Brave and Otago Volts leading the charge at the top of the table with six points. Although Central Stags have also picked up a victory, they are two points off the pace but have at least one game in hand on those two teams.
At the other end of the table, it is Wellington Firebirds and Canterbury Kings who are yet to get any points on the board but it is still early days!
The Kings will travel to Auckland without any fears against this Auckland Aces side who have not had anywhere near the level of game time as the others and that could be crucial in this fixture.

Although their last game ended as a no-result, Auckland Aces did at least have 18 overs of game time against Otago Volts in Match Three but they could count themselves fortunate to have escaped without defeat after being bowled out for only 106.
The timeless Martin Guptill hit 31 of those 106 runs at the top of the order and the tall right-handed opener is likely to be key in setting the tone for the side once again. Captain Sean Solia is another with the power to hit quick runs, as is keeper-batter Cam Fletcher who we expect to come in at number six in this game.
With the ball, Ben Lister has proved himself to be a top bowler at this level and he will take the new cherry alongside Simon Keene in this clash at the Eden Park Outer Oval.

Although Canterbury Kings were defeated in Match 2 against Otago Volts, there were plenty of positives to take for Cole McConchie's side. The skipper himself top scored with an impressive 49 runs from 34 balls but there were impressive showings with both bat and ball from the team.
There is plenty of bowling depth in the side, as shown by McConchie using seven in the field in the last game and although Ish Sodhi was expensive and went wicketless, he could easily bounce back in this match. Kyle Jamieson looks to be clear of injuries and comes into the game after taking 2/26 against Otago.
In Chad Bowes and Tom Latham. Canterbury have one of the strongest opening pairs in the tournament and there are also plenty of runs down the order in the batting line-up.
Chad Bowes, Tom Latham (wk), Matthew Boyle, Cole McConchie (c), Harry Chamberlain, Michael Rippon, Henry Shipley, Kyle Jamieson, Ish Sodhi, Angus McKenzie, Michael Rae

Although there will be some rain and cloudy conditions around earlier in the day, by the time this day-nighter gets underway we are expecting dry weather and clear skies.
Although this pitch will give assistance to the bowlers, there are more than enough top quality batters who will still be able to dominate if they get in and build an innings. A par first innings score is likely to be 160-170.
Match four and match five were both won by the team chasing and we predict that the captains of both teams will go out to the middle with the intention of bowling first if they win the toss ahead of this game.
Although there are match-winners in both sides, we think that in Kyle Jamieson and Cole McConchie, Canterbury Kings have players who will win more games than lose. Therefore we are predicting a victory for the Kings over the Aces.
