Big Boys will take on Delhi Royals in their second match of the Legend 90 League 2025. It will be a tough challenge for the Boys as they aim for a comeback against a strong Royals side.
Royals have won one of their two matches so far. They have crossed the 170-run mark in both games while batting first. DLR have a very strong batting lineup that features some of the best T20 batters in world cricket.
Big Boys, on the other hand, haven’t got many star players in their batting order. None of their top 4 batsmen has ever played an international game while a couple of them have no First Class experience either.
Naman Sharma looks very promising in the middle order and will be one to watch out for in the Boys’ squad. For Delhi Royals, there is no dearth of experience or talent with Lendl Simmons and Shikhar Dhawan leading from the front.

Big Boys lost their opening game by 6 wickets while defending 123 runs against Gujarat Samp Army. There were no overseas players in the XI. The Boys have got some of the great legends of the game in their squad like Chris Gayle, Tilakratne Dilshan, and Anton Devcic.
None of these batters made it to the XI in the opening game. It is quite evident that the Big Boys need these players to strengthen their batting lineup. With Gayle and Dilshan at the top, it could be a completely different picture.
They will be facing a strong bowling attack from the Royals in this game. As such, they need to make some big changes to the playing XI and get in some of their best players to prepare for this challenge.
Ishan Malhotra and Sunny Singh failed as openers while Robin Bist couldn’t convert his cautious start into something more significant. It was Naman Sharma’s 52 off 29 balls that led the Boys to a par score.
If it wasn’t for him, the team would have bundled up for less than 100 runs. At present, it looks like a very weak batting lineup. In the bowling attack, there are a few promising players like Monu Kumar, Jitendra Giri, and Animesh Sharma.
However, without the batters scoring well, the bowlers will find it difficult to make a big impact on the game.

Delhi Royals bounced back in their second game as they defended a 195-run total against Rajasthan and won by 41 runs. It was a convincing win after they lost to Chattisgarh Warriors in the opening game despite posting a 172-run total batting first.
The Royals will be confident coming into this match. They’ve got a superior batting lineup and an in-form bowling attack. Lendl Simmons was exceptional in the last game with his 87 off 39 balls and will be the player to watch out for.
In the middle-order, Danushka Gunathilaka is in fine touch along with Angelo Perera and Ross Taylor. Almost every one of the top and middle-order batsmen has looked in good touch so far and is likely to step up and deliver impactful knocks for the team.
Parvinder Awana continues to be the leading bowler for the side and with his tight economy, he will create trouble for the opposition. And while Jerome Taylor was very expensive, the Royals can look up to Bipul Sharma to deliver breakthroughs and Awana’s bowling efforts.

It will be a sunny in Raipur on the match day with a high of 32 degrees Celsius. There should be no rain interruptions during the game as far as the weather forecast goes. The weather will allow for the pitch to open up a bit and in case of few cracks coming on the surface, the spinners could have a good time.
It seems like a balanced wicket that leans more in the bowlers’ favor. Batters can make most of these conditions but given the nature of this league where most players haven’t been actively playing T20 or any other formats for a long time, the bowlers are more likely to have the edge in the contest. The average 1st innings score in the last 5 games here is 160 runs. We reckon a 180+ score here would be a match-winning total.
Teams batting first have won 2 of the 4 matches so far. Teams batting first have been successful in posting competitive totals. It won’t be easy to chase anything over 175 in these games and we reckon batting first is a good choice on winning the toss. Though teams have leaned towards bowling first on multiple occasions in this league so far, it isn’t a good idea unless they’ve got a solid bowling attack that can put the opposition on the back foot.
Delhi Royals have a much superior side with in-form batters with plenty of international experience. Big Boys need to get their big guns in the XI to compete with the mighty Royals. DLR also have a strong bowling attack that has recently tasted success and will be confident coming into this game. Delhi Royals will start as our favorites to win.
