Shivamogga Lions will take on Bengaluru Blasters in their last league stage match. This is a must-win game for the 5th-placed Lions as they look to climb to number 4 in the points table.
While a win here is a must, it is not enough. At the end of the league stage, it is highly likely that two teams would be tied with 10 points each and then the NRR would decide who grabs the 4th spot.
Bengaluru Blasters are coming into this match with a big win in their last game where they scored 212 runs batting first. While there may have been inconsistencies in the performances of both teams, Bengaluru looks slightly more promising with the bat.
Shivamogga Lions suffered a batting collapse in their last two consecutive matches and are in all sorts of trouble. Nevertheless, they were brilliant with the ball in their recent loss.

Bengaluru Blasters ed their second win of the season as they beat Mysore Warriors by 10 runs in their recent outing. Skipper Mayank Agarwal’s 105 off 57 balls set the stage for a big score.
Shubhang Hegde and Suraj Ahuja also played some handy knocks in the middle order. These two have been crucial in previous matches too. They’ve got the ability to play the finisher’s role and score quick runs at the death.
Dega Nischal will be a key player at number 3. Agarwal and Nischal added 93 runs for the 2nd wicket against Mysore in the last match. In their previous match against Hubli Tigers, both scored a fifty each and stitched a 122-run partnership for the 2nd wicket.
Blasters will be concerned about their bowling effort coming into this match. They failed to defend 188 runs against the Hubli Tigers.
And in their recent win over Mysore, they were very expensive in the powerplay and at the start of the 12th over, had already conceded 130 runs. Mohsin Khan and Sarfaraz Ashraf are key wicket-takers in the side and will be the ones to watch out for.
Hegde and LR Kumar need to these two with the ball or else it will be difficult to defend any score.

Shivamogga Lions will be under pressure as they take on Bengaluru Blasters in a must-win game. While the Lions look out of touch with the bat, the Blasters look quite threatening in the same department.
Shreyas Gopal, Vasuki Vyshak, and Pranav Bhatia should bring their A-game with the ball to put Blasters on the backfoot. There are others in this bowling attack who’ve been quite expensive and could hurt the Lions.
The biggest concern going into this do-or-die game for Shivamogga is the lack of any reliable batters in the lineup. No one in this batting lineup looks in good form.
Even in their last win over Mysore where the Lions chased down 163 runs, the batters struggled and no one looked comfortable at the crease. The strike rates were quite underwhelming.
Since then, the performance graph has been on a downward graph with frequent collapses rocking their boat. While openers Rohit Kadam and Nihal Ullal aren’t scoring much at the top, Rohan Naveen and Rohit Kumar K fail to make an impact at 3 and 4.
A lot depends on Ullal and Rohit Kumar K in this batting lineup. Though Shreyas Gopal is an all-rounder and can score runs at number 5, he is far from a match-winner.
Abhinav Manohar looked promising early on but has been inconsistent lower down the order. Other key batters who could finish the innings for the Lions are Kranthi Kumar and Pranav Bhatia lower down the order.

The pitch continues to favor batters and there have been some big scores in recent outings. There is plenty of help for the batters in both innings and it will take a special effort from the bowlers to make an impact here. The weather will be partly cloudy with a high of 29 degrees Celsius.
Both Lions and Blasters will be playing their last game of the league stage at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The average 1st innings score in T20s at this venue is 164 runs and the team batting first should look for at least 190+ runs to pose a challenge to the chasing team.
The venue has favored teams chasing a target and given their current batting form, the Blasters would be more than happy to bat second. At the same time, the struggling Lions will not be looking to put their batters under more pressure by opting to bat first.
It will be a close contest between the two sides. Lions have looked out of form in the batting department and Blasters, on the other hand, are coming off a big win led by brilliant batting performances. However, the poor bowling form of the Blasters and their inconsistency makes them less reliable. They might not be able to defend a 170-185 run total if they bat first.
It is tricky to pick a winner between the two given the current state of the Lions’ batting lineup. Overall, considering the current form and momentum, Bengaluru Blasters will start with a slight edge in our match prediction.
