After a rough start at home in Ahmedabad, where they went down to Punjab, Gujarat Titans have bounced back with four straight wins and now sit second on the table. They’ve settled into a rhythm and are starting to look like the side everyone will want to avoid.
The top three are clicking well. Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler have all looked solid. Sudharsan is leading the scoring charts for GT with 191 runs from four games at an average of 47.75 and a strike rate of 150.39.
Gill, after a couple of short stays, finally came through with an unbeaten 61 off 43 to take them past Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 153. That return to form couldn’t have come at a better time, especially with him going back to a ground where he averages over 60.
Sherfane Rutherford has quietly done the job in the middle as the Impact Sub, hammering 129 runs at a strike rate of 176.71 across four innings.
GT also gave Washington Sundar his first game of the season last time out and he didn’t disappoint—smashing 49 off 29 after the team had slumped to 16 for 2.
The bowling group has done most of the heavy lifting so far. Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Sai Kishore have stood out. Siraj has been sharp up top, while Kishore has kept things tidy in the middle with an economy of 7.06.
Rashid Khan hasn’t looked his usual self this season, and along with Ishant Sharma, he's been one of the softer targets for opposing batters. GT will still be hoping Rashid finds his groove soon.
Sai Kishore has been the most impactful bowler in the middle overs this season for the Gujarat Titans, where he has bowled at an economy of 7.06 and has picked up 8 wickets in 4 matches. He bowls tight line & lenghts and has been amongst the wickets in every match. We predict Sai Kishore will take more than one wicket against the Royals in today's match.
Jos Buttler has scores of 0, 73*, 39 & 54 this season, he failed to score runs against SRH, but still is in good knick. At Ahmedabad in 5 matches, Buttler has scored 238 runs averaging 59.50. He will playing against his former team and look to make a statement with the bat.
Shubman Gill scored 61 runs in the last match against SRH and is in sublime touch at the moment. At Ahmedabad, Gill has scored 1020 runs in 20 matches, averaging 60.23. We back him to continue his good run of form and play another match winning knock against the Royals.

Rajasthan Royals didn’t have the best start to IPL 2025, dropping their first two games. But since then, they’ve flipped the script with strong away wins over CSK and Punjab Kings. In their last outing, they outplayed Punjab by 50 runs after putting up a solid 205-4.
It was a near-perfect performance. Yashasvi Jaiswal found his groove again, scoring a fluent 67 off 45. Skipper Sanju Samson added 38 off 26, while Riyan Parag chipped in with a brisk 43* off 25.
The middle and lower order is starting to look dependable with Nitish Rana, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer waiting in the wings. But for them to get into the action, Rajasthan still needs two of Jaiswal, Samson, or Parag to set the tone up top.
Their bowling is turning a corner, too. Jofra Archer, who had a rough start, is finding rhythm again. He picked up 3-25 and 1-13 in his last two matches and is causing problems early on.
Hasaranga and Theekshana have owned the middle overs, sharing 10 wickets so far. Sandeep Sharma has been his usual steady self, keeping it tight with slower deliveries and cutters, especially in the death.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Sandeep Sharma Impact Player: Kumar Kartikeya

The first match of IPL 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, was an absolute road with nothing in it for the bowlers and over 475 runs being scored. However, the second one saw a much different surface, where the ball held up and there was something in it for both seamers and spinners. If we get a similar pitch, then the team batting first will look to capitalize the powerplay and then build the innings from there. Batting will get tougher in the second innings as the wicket starts to become slower.
The weather in Ahmedabad will be hot and dry with no forecast of rain.

Average TurnThe average first innings score at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, is 173. The highest total posted here is Punjab Kings’ massive 243-5 in IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans. With pitches becoming slower everywhere, expect both teams to target a first innings score of around 190 runs.
We back the home team, Gujarat Titans to win the coin toss in match 23 of Tata IPL 2025.
The average total match score in the last two matches played at Narendra Modi Stadium is 415.5. It is a high scoring venue and both teams boast solid batting lineup, expect another scoring match and the total match score over 379.
Both the matches played at Ahmedabad this season have been won by the team batting first. Going by these numbers, we expect both captains to look to bat first and try and put on an above par score.
Both Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals head into this clash riding high after strong wins, so momentum won’t be an issue. Rajasthan have looked much better after a shaky start, but their batting depth remains a concern. If the top order doesn’t deliver, things could go south quickly. Gujarat, on the other hand, look more settled across the board. Playing at home gives them an extra boost as well. That said, IPL 2025 has thrown up plenty of surprises already with the supposed underdogs taking our the favorites regularly, and if Rajasthan’s top order clicks, they’re definitely in with a shot. Even so, Gujarat’s better balance makes them the safer pick.
Gujarat Titans are our picks for the winners of this match.
