Royal Challengers Bengaluru couldn’t have asked for a better start to their season. Two away matches, two dominant victories—they’ve set the tone early and look like strong contenders. Their latest win was a commanding 50-run triumph over Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. After putting up 196-7, they kept the hosts to just 146-8.
RCB’s batting lineup is in excellent shape, with Virat Kohli, Philip Salt, and Rajat Patidar all looking solid. Patidar has stepped up with crucial performances in both games, while Salt will relish the batting-friendly conditions at Chinnaswamy. An aggressive start from him seems likely. Kohli, who thrives at this venue with an average of over 40, has ed four centuries and 22 fifties here. Another big knock is on the cards. Lower down the order, Jitesh Sharma and Tim David can be counted on for quick runs in the final overs.
Batting has always been RCB’s strong suit, but this season, their bowling looks sharp too. Josh Hazlewood’s inclusion has been a game-changer—five wickets in two matches at an economy of just 5.37 speak volumes. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s presence alongside him gives RCB a dependable pace attack in the powerplay. Krunal Pandya, Yash Dayal, and Liam Livingstone add more options in the middle overs, ensuring a balanced attack.
Patidar scored a match winning knock (51 runs) against CSK. He is in sublime form at the moment and scores runs at a qucik rate. He averages over 50 against spinners and consdiering his current form, we back Patidar to continue his good run of form and score over 30 runs.

After falling short in their opening game against Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans bounced back with a convincing 36-run win over Mumbai Indians at home. They put up a solid 196-8 after batting first and kept MI to 160-6.
Sai Sudharsan once again led the charge, scoring a composed 63 off 41 balls. This was his second consecutive fifty, proving his consistency at the top. He has been anchoring the innings well, which makes him a dependable presence.
Captain Shubman Gill has been getting starts but hasn’t converted them into a big score yet. Given his current form and the batting-friendly conditions, he looks due for a standout performance soon. Jos Buttler is another batter to keep an eye on. He’s already scored 54 (off 33) and 39 (off 24) in the tournament and appears set for another impactful knock of 30+ runs at number three.
Gujarat's main concern is their middle and lower order, which hasn’t looked convincing. If early wickets fall, they could be in trouble. Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia haven’t found their rhythm, and much will depend on how Impact Player Sherfane Rutherford handles the pressure in case of a collapse.
Gujarat’s bowling unit looks well-balanced. Kagiso Rabada is their go-to pacer for early breakthroughs, while Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna have been effective with their variations. Both impressed in the last game by deceiving batters with slower deliveries and cutters.
Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore has also been a standout performer, picking up four wickets while keeping things tight in the middle overs with an economy rate of 8.37.
Rabada has had a pretty ordinary start to his IPL campaign, where he has managed to take 2 wickets in 2 matches. He has a phenomenal record against RCB (18 wickets in 8 matches) and averages 3 wickets per game in the matches played at Bengaluru.
The elegant left hander has scored half centuries against PBKS and MI, amassing 137 runs in 2 matches. He hasn't been troubled by any bowler in the tournament. He scores runs at a certain tempo and is a consistent run-scorer. Given his current form, we back Sudharshan to play another match winning knock and score over 32 runs against RCB.
Jos Buttler has scored over 30 runs in both the matches he has played this season. Against RCB, Buttler has phenomenal numbers (512 runs in 15 matches). Though he hasn't found much success in the four matches played at Bengaluru, where he managed to score 54 runs. Buttler will be eyeing for a big knock on a good batting track and we predict his score to be over 27 runs.

The pitch at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has always been known to favour batters. The surface here tends to be rather flat, allowing batsmen to play through the line and smash big ones. Spinners do get some help in the middle overs, but since this is the first game of the season to be played at the venue, it is more likely to be a batting paradise with very little for the bowlers.
The weather in Bengaluru will be slightly cloudy and cool during the evening, but there is no forecast of rain so we should get a full match.

Average TurnThe average score batting first at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is 168. However, you should expect a high-scoring game here. In IPL 2024, the Chinnaswamy stadium produced the highest team total in the league’s history – 287 by Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The team batting first would be eyeing a score of around 220-230 in this contest.
We back the home team, RCB to win the coin toss in match 14 of TATA IPL 2025.
The average total match score in the last 7 IPL matches played at Bengaluru is 377. The surface at Bengaluru favours the batters, with the short boundary dimensions the scores are often on the higher side. Both teams head into this contest on the back of high scoring games.
Four of the last five IPL matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium have been won by the team batting first. This shows that the venue usually favors setting a target and batting first would be the better choice here.
Both Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans come into this game on the back of victories, determined to build on their form. RCB have been the biggest surprise of the tournament so far, delivering dominant performances in both their away games. Now, back on their home turf, they’ll be even more confident. Gujarat Titans, though, won’t make it easy. Their top order is dangerous, and their bowling attack is well-balanced. This should be a hard-fought battle that can go either way, but on this high-scoring pitch, RCB’s powerful batting lineup might just tip the scales in their favor.
Back Royal Challengers Bengaluru as the winners of this contest.
