It's becoming a bit of a copy and paste job doing match previews for the 2024 Indian Premier League as totals of 200+ are becoming the rule, rather than the exception, and no matter what the target is, teams are going to chase them!
Wednesday's match saw another 440 runs scored, this time in Delhi, with the Gujarat Titans bowling attack the ones taking the most punishment. That is not to say, that certain bowlers from Delhi Capitals also saw the ball flying to the fence on a regular basis.
So ahead of this clash, do not be surprised if yorkers are sent for six and some of the world's best bowlers are again given neck ache as they follow the trajectory of some shots from their bowling.

KKR posted 222/6 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last game and there was a rare failure from Sunil Narine at the top of the order who made a 15-ball 10. The main run-getters for Kolkata were Phil Salt (48 runs from 14 balls!) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (50 runs from 36 balls) with very useful contributions from Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh and Ramandeep Singh.
Bowling impact player, Suyash Sharma, was the only member of KKR's bowling attack to go wicketless against RCB and Andre Russell stood out with 3/25 from his three overs. Mitchell Starc remains one of the best strike-bowlers across all-formats but his economy rate of 18.33 shows that even the world's best are struggling in this year's tournament.

A fine example of Punjab Kings' problems this year is the fact that their opening partnership in the last game was stand-in skipper Sam Curran and Prabhsimran Singh. Considering they started with the now injured Shikhar Dhawan leading the side and the now out of form Jonny Bairstow at the top of the order, not a lot has gone right for the Kings.
Big hitting middle order batter Liam Livingstone has had another disappointing tournament and time after time the bowling attack of Punjab Kings have been left to clean up the mess.
They have a fine suite of bowlers but they are going to have their work cut out against this KKR batting line up.

It is going to be another hot afternoon in Kolkata and the temperature will not drop below 30 degrees across this game, even if the finish is beyond midnight! We can also expect very humid conditions during this match.

High TurnThe combined innings in the last game here at Eden Gardens was 443/16 and it would be no surprise to see another big high scoring clash. If KKR bat first, we could well see another of the highest team scores in the tournament this year.
The teams batting second have won 58.89% of IPL games at Eden Gardens so our prediction is that both skippers will go out to the toss looking to bowl first in this match.
KKR have players in form and other players contributing across their side whereas the opposite is the case for Punjab Kings. Our winning prediction is for KKR and we expect them to produce another dominant display.
