Leicestershire Preview

Foxes will be hoping for their openers to get off to a flier in this match. S Budinger scored a quickfire fifty in the last match here but was out for a golden duck in the last match at Edgbaston.

Rishi Patel also failed to get going in the last game. Both openers are attacking batters who’ve been quite promising and will be crucial to post a big total. Skipper Peter Handscomb has found his rhythm early in the season and that’s great news for the number 3 batter.

In the lower-middle order, Wiaan Mulder and Ben Cox will be expected to be in the finisher’s role. They were impressive at home in their first match but couldn’t make much of an impact at Edgbaston.

Partnerships are key to a big score and maintaining momentum. A one-man show won’t be enough. In the bowling department, there are quite a few names for the Foxes. 

They aren’t entirely dependent on any specific bowlers. Ben Mike, Louis Kimber, and Rehan Ahmed are among the key wicket-takers in this squad. Foxes will have the upper hand coming into this match with a much stronger squad.

Durham Preview

Durham are in all sorts of trouble with back-to-back losses where the batters failed to post a decent total on the board. They were bowled out for 75 runs in the opening game and in the next game, Warwickshire bowled them out for just 101 runs.

Colin Ackerman, the Dutch batting all-rounder, who didn’t make it to the Netherlands T20 World Cup squad, bats at number 4 in this batting lineup.

Another experienced and big-hitting all-rounder to watch out for in the Durham batting lineup is Ashton Turner. He’s known for his ability to finish games and has done it many times for Australia.

He comes in at number 6 followed by Michael Jones, a Scotland batter with a strike rate of 141 in 7 T20Is. At the top, there are the likes of Graham Clark and skipper Alex Lees who’s played 10 Tests for England.

Lees has plenty of experience and should be looking to make a comeback with a big-impact knock. There is no dearth of experienced batters and all-rounders in this side but their current form is a major concern.

No one has been able to get even a decent start so far. The bowling attack is probably one of the best in the league considering some of the big and promising names.

Ben Raine, Ben Dwarshuis, Callum Parkinson, and Matthew Potts are all wicket-taking and reliable bowlers. Durham have what it takes to win but are just out of form at the moment.
