This will be match 12 of the 2025 Pakistan Super League and already Islamabad United are riding high at the top of the table with four wins from four games.
However, for every high-flyer there is a low-roller and it is Multan Sultans who have been off the pace across their opening three games and are still looking for their first win of the tournament.
Lahore Qalandars were beaten by Islamabad United in their opener but have since looked really strong with big wins after batting first against Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings.
Multan Sultans won both meetings last year but they could do with getting a victory by hook or crook this time whereas Lahore Qalandars will be relishing this head to head!

For whatever reason, Multan Sultans have been massively under-performing this season and although they retain some big name international players in their team, they will have to produce a display far better than their last three if they are to win this game against Lahore Qalandars.
As ever, with a top two of skipper Mohammad Rizwan and keeper-batter Shai Hope, one would expect the Sultans to get off to a strong first wicket partnership. Equally, Usman Khan is a very capable T20 batter and a middle order of Michael Bracewell, Ashton Turner, Iftikhar Ahmed and David Willey has experience and quality.
With the ball, Willey has the variations to trouble the Lahore batters and Bracewell is able to land the ball in the same place. Ubaid Shah will also be crucial after he took two wickets in the last game.
Usman Khan has scored 44, 31 & 19 runs this season so far. He bats in the top four and more often than not plays handy cameos. He is a good bet for this match, given his recent performances and his ability to take down spinners in the middle overs.
Mohammad Rizwan has smashed 13 fours in 3 matches, averaging 4.3 fours per match. In Multan, Rizwan averages 5.6 fours per match; he plays most of his shots along the ground and looks to maneuver the ball into gaps.
Mohammad Rizwan has scored 158 runs in 3 matches and is the leading run-scorer for Multan. He has a phenomenal record at Multan (516 runs in 10 matches, average: 64.5). Against Lahore Qalandars he has scored 538 runs in 16 matches, averaging 38.42. Given his current form, we back Rizwan to score over 24 runs in match 12.

Any team who wins a T20 game by 65 runs in Karachi must have a firing batting line-up and that is certainly the case for Lahore Qalandars ahead of this game. It was Fakhar Zaman at the top of the order with New Zealand international Daryl Mitchell at number four who both made scores of 75+ in the impressive victory against the Karachi Kings.
But with the likes of Abdullah Shafique and Sikandar Raza also in the side, there are runs throughout the batting line up.
Shaheen Shah Afridi has long been a match-winner in white ball cricket but he was at his best in the first over of the last game. Dismissing both David Warner and James Vince, two of the best white ball top order batters over the last decade, and the left-arm pacer's confidence will be sky high!
Haris Rauf will come on as first change and usually keeps the runs down with Sikandar Raza likely to offer the most wicket taking potential with the ball.
Playing his debut PSL season, Daryl Mitchell is off to a positive start scoring 125 runs (75, 37 & 13) in 3 matches. His ability to quickly adapt to conditions and handle the spinners well has put the Qalandars on top. Considering his current form, we predict Mitchell's total score to be over 20 runs.
Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, Daryl Mitchell, Sam Billings (wk), Sikandar Raza, Rishad Hossain, Shaheen Shah Afridi (c), Asif Afridi, Zaman Khan, Haris Rauf

It will be a clear evening in Multan with the temperature likely to remain between 32 degrees and 28. Humidity will not be an issue with levels no higher than 20% from start to finish.
The Multan Cricket Stadium has produced many excellent batting performances over the years and as this will be the first game of the 2025 Pakistan Super League at the venue we expect a particularly strong batting track. Whoever bats first will be targeting a total of 225+.
We back the visitors, Lahore Qalandars to win the coin toss in match 12 of PSL 2025.
Both teams have very strong batting line-ups and Lahore like to unleash their pacers in the second half of games. Therefore, we predict that both teams will want to bat first.
Multan Sultans have plenty of quality in their team but it is Lahore Qalandars who have the genuine match-winners with the ball. On a strong batting surface, the extra level of bowlers will be crucial so we are predicting victory for Lahore and another defeat for Multan Sultans!
We are backing Lahore Qalandars to win!
