With all teams having played five or six matches so far in this SA20 campaign, the table is starting to take shape. Paarl Royals are the pace-setters with five wins from six and they have a four point lead over Durban's Super Giants in second place. Sunrisers are in third and they have a six point advantage over fourth place. Down at the other end, Pretoria Capitals and Joburg Super Kings are struggling with only one victory each.
Ahead of this game on Thursday, Sunrisers Eastern Cape will be looking to move up to second place with a victory and they already have the best net-run-rate of all sides. The Capitals can move off the foot of the table if they can turn the last head to head result, from earlier this week, on its head!

After being bowled out for 52 on Monday, it will be very interesting to see how Pretoria Capitals approach this game, particularly as they are up against the same opposition! It certainly didn't look like being an innings which would yield so few runs and would end after 13.3 overs when the two English openers hit 25 from the first 2.5 overs.
Still, an attacking approach at the top of the order could well be the answer for the Capitals and Phil Salt and Will Jacks know no other way! Frankly, the middle order of Rilee Rossouw, Colin Ingram and James Neesham should have been able to make 52 runs between themselves and it could be that they suddenly deliver this time.
And the bowlers, they just want more than a target of 53 to defend this time!

Although Dawid Malan was dismissed from the second ball he faced in the chase, everything else went the way of Sunrisers Eastern Cape at St George's Park earlier this week. Confidence will be running through each and every one of the squad and we do not expect to see any changes to the XI.
The batters and bowlers will probably have to put in a bit more work in this head to head as only Daniel Worrall got through his four overs on Monday before Jordan Hermann and Tom Abell did the business with the bat before the end of the seventh over!
Ottniel Baartman took 4/12 from his 3.3 overs in Match 15 and he will be raring to go once again in this clash.
Jordan Hermann, Dawid Malan, Tom Abell, Aiden Markram (c), Tristan Stubbs (wk), Patrick Kruger, Marco Jansen, Liam Dawson, Simon Harmer, Ottniel Baartman, Daniel Worrall

It looks like being a typical South African summer's evening at Centurion Park. The temperature will not dip beneath 25 degrees and it will be mainly clear skies throughout this contest.
Whoever the curator is at Centurion, they have created a monster of a batting wicket! We could well see two totals of 200+ although the Capitals would probably settle for any improvement on their 52 from Monday.
The team batting first has won both matches at Centurion so far in the 2024 SA20. Therefore, we expect that both captains will choose to bat first if they win the toss ahead of this game on Thursday.
Pretoria Capitals do have the ability to win this game but a lot will be required from the opening pair of Will Jacks and Phil Salt. So far, Salt has not lived up to his pre-Christmas form and Jacks can not be expected to win a match on his own against an in-form side like the Sunrisers. Overall, we are predicting a victory for Sunrisers Eastern Cape which will mean four wins in a row for Aiden Markram's side.
We are backing Sunrisers Eastern Cape to win.
