After MI Cape Town beat Pretoria Capitals by 27 runs in Match 27 on Friday evening, it meant that the final three group stage matches in this year's SA20 would not have an impact on who finished in the top four. Not that there is nothing to play for as MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals are both in the fight for first place whereas Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings can both take third!
This is the time of a season where teams want to be in the top four positions but also want to be playing their best cricket of the campaign. Neither Sunrisers, who won the tournament in 2024, or the Royals, can lay claim to be in excellent form though with the former losing both of their last two games and the latter beaten on Thursday.
Both sides will be desperate to win this fixture and take some confidence into the play-offs so this should be an excellent contest at St George's Park on Saturday afternoon.

In their last game, against MI Cape Town on Wednesday, only opener David Bedingham could hold his head up high after he made 45 of his side's 107 before the opposition knocked off the run with 54 balls remaining and no wickets down!
There was no place in the XI for England international Zak Crawley in that game and despite the poor performances from most of his team-mates we do not expect him to come back for this game due to his poor form in the tournament.
Sunrisers may have a batting line-up devoid of confidence but their bowling unit does have plenty of variety. Left-arm pacer Marco Jansen compliments his right-arm team-mates Craig Overton and Richard Gleeson whilst Simon Harmer provides right-arm spin with Liam Dawson giving the left-arm equivalent.

After losing to Joburg Super Kings by seven wickets with 13 balls remaining on Thursday, Paarl Royals will be desperate to get back to winning ways ahead of the play-offs.
They were without Joe Root for that match as he has now travelled to India ahead of the ODI series and Champions Trophy, with his compatriot Sam Hain replacing him at the top of the order. Hain made only two runs from two balls and we expect his spell at the top of the order for the Royals to end after that with Mitchell Owen, hero of Hobart Hurricanes in the 2024/25 Big Bash League, linking up with the team ahead of this game.
Owen is likely to open up alongside Lhuan-dre Pretorius who has caught the eye with a string of attacking performances at the top of the order and between them they could be a formidable pairing.
With the ball, we expect Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Bjorn Fortuin to be the most economical of the attack for the Royals on Saturday.

The forecast is for a warm and humid afternoon in Gqeberha. The temperature will drop no lower than 22 degrees across the game with sunshine expected from start to finish.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape have been impressive in their most recent fixtures at this venue where they have been able to post competitive scores on what has generally been a bowler-friendly surface. Any score above 160 in the first innings is likely to be competitive.
Three of the four games at St George's Park have been won by the team batting first in this year's SA20 and we predict that both captains will go out for the toss on Saturday wanting to bat first once more.
Although Sunrisers Eastern Cape have a good recent record at St George's Park, their batting has been so poor in their last couple of games that we expect Paarl Royals to be too strong for them. The arrival of Mitchell Owen should strengthen the Royals and we predict they will be top of the table again after this game.
