It would be a big surprise if both Somerset and Sussex Sharks did not finish in the top four of the South Group and advance to the knockout stage but neither side has guaranteed their place in the top four as yet.
Therefore there will be plenty to play for in this game at Taunton on Thursday and both teams will still fancy their chances of overhauling Surrey at the top of the table who are not out of reach.
Somerset and Sussex Sharks have sides packed with T20 specialists and the crowd should be in for a cracking contest.

Even without Will Smeed at the top of the order in their last game against Hampshire Hawks on Sunday in Southampton, Somerset were still able to cruise home winning by nine wickets with 12 balls remaining.
Leading run scorer Tom Abell didn't even get to the wicket such was the performances of opener Tom Banton (79 not out from 52 balls) and Tom Kohler-Core (43 not out from 28 balls) and once again Somerset will come into this match with plenty of confidence in the batting line-up.
With the ball, Riley Meredith and Ben Green were the only bowlers to go wicketless in the last fixture with England Test spinner Jack Leach standing out with figures of 2/23 from four overs.

It was a high scoring thriller which Sussex Sharks ended on the wrong side of in their last match against Essex Eagles but their batters in particular will come into this game with confidence after posting 207/2.
Australia Daniel Hughes has had a brilliant tournament and once again made big runs quickly before he was stumped for 81 from 43 balls. He was assisted by the unbeaten Tom Clark who finished on 72 from 53 balls.
The bowling attack will be disappointed that they could not defend the 208 target but they did still take five wickets. Ollie Robinson stood out with 3/27 and along with Tymal Mills will be key in this fixture.

The pitch at Taunton is hard and bouncy which allows the top order of Somerset to back themselves and go for their shots. As ever, bowlers will need to be at their best with their variations to prevent going for big runs.
Both teams will consider their batting line-up to be their main strength and so we predict that the captains will walk out to the middle intending to bat first and put the pressure on the opposition.
With home advantage and coming off the back of convincing successive wins against Surrey and Hampshire Hawks, we expect Somerset to be too strong for the Sharks. Sussex have had a strong season but we think their batting will struggle to keep up with the hosts on Thursday evening.
