The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is on the verge of a start. The warm-up games have produced some unexpected results. With curiosity about who has a great run, two tournament minnows will play their final warm-up game. The Bangladesh Women will face Pakistan Women at ICC Academy Ground No 2, Dubai on 30th September from 7:30 pm onwards.

Bangladesh Women played their first warm-up game against Sri Lanka Women. Bowling first, Bangladesh Women, restricted Sri Lanka Women to 143 for losing 7 wickets. Bowling all-rounder Shoma Akter took two wickets for 19 while other bowlers took a wicket each. The chase became difficult as Bangladesh Women lost their top-order to 35 runs. Skipper Niger Sultana then scored 30 off 38. But her fight couldn’t give the much-needed victory. They lost the game by 33 runs.

Pakistan Women suffered a shocking defeat in their warm-up game at the hands of Scotland Women. Batting first, Pakistan Women scored 132 runs after Omaima Sohail scored 30 runs in the middle. The Pakistani bowlers couldn’t manage to stop the Scottish top order. Pakistan Women lost the game by 8 wickets. Nashra Sandhu was the only wicket-taker from the Pakistani camp.

Both teams faced each other in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Warm-up matches in 2023. Batting first, Bangladesh Women managed to put 101 runs on the board with just three of their players managing to score in two digits. Nashra Sandhu took two wickets in the game for 19. A calculated chase from skipper Bismah Maroff (24) and Nida Dar (24*) helped Pakistan win the game by 6 wickets with four overs in hand.

Pakistan Women are placed in Group A of the T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka, India, New Zealand & Australia while Bangladesh Women will play in Group B with West Indies, England, South Africa & Scotland.

Bangladesh Women will eye on a victory to start their World Cup campaign on a high note. Dilara Akter will open the innings with Shathi Rani. Akhtar has 179 runs in 12 games played this year with a strike rate of 118.54 - the highest among the Bangladesh Women. Murshida Khatun will come at number three. Khatun has 232 runs in 10 games this year with two half-centuries. Against Pakistan Women she has scored 43 runs in two T20Is.

Skipper Niger Sultana will lead the middle order with Taj Nehar, Shorna Akter, and Ritu Moni. Sultana has scored 331 runs in 11 innings at an average of 41.37 with three half-centuries since the start of this year. But her average against Pakistan Women is just 14.92 in 16 innings. She will be the batter to watch out for seeing her current form. Akter who took 2 wickets in the last warm-up game has 83 runs in 8 innings at a strike rate of 103.

Rabeya Khan will take the bowling attack with Nahida Akter and Disha Biswas. Khan is Bangladesh’s leading wicket-taker this year with 14 wickets with an economy of 6.03 - the lowest among the Bangladeshi pacers. She will be the bowler to watch out for. Nahida Akter has 13 wickets this year in 12 innings at an economy of 6.76. Pakistan Women are in a dilemma after losing the first warm-up game. They will have high expectations from the openers Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas. Feroza has 279 runs this year at a strike rate of just above 100. She has hit two half-centuries - the highest among the Pakistani batters. She will be the batter to watch out for. Shamas on the other hand has managed to score just 43 runs in 4 innings. Sidra Amin will come at number three. Though Amin is one of the only two batters to have scored more than 300 runs this year, her strike rate of 95.37 is a bit of concern.

Nida Dar, Muneeba Ali, and Omaima Sohail will come in the middle. Ali and Sohail scored 27 runs and 30 runs each in the first warm-up game. The team management will expect them to keep the tempo alive if the top order fails. Muneeba Ali is their leading run-scorer this year with 364 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 113.04. Aliya Riaz at number seven has impressed a lot this year with her 174 runs in 10 games at an average of 34.80 - the highest among the Pakistani Women.

Skiipper Fatima Sana is hitting some quick runs at the bottom. She has a strike rate of 128.78 - by far the highest among them. The all-rounder also has 7 wickets in her pockets in 13 innings at an economy of 6.80. Sadia Iqbal will lead the bowling attack with Nida Dar. Iqbal has 24 wickets this year in just 15 games at an economy of 6 - the lowest among all. She will be the bowler to watch out for.
