Bhilwara Kings chased down a 229-run target with 3 wickets in hand in their first game of the season. Irfan Pathan with his unbeaten 65 off 19 balls was the star of the match.

However, the next two matches saw the Kings’ batting lose its steam. Simmons led the run-chase in the next game with a 99-run knock as Bhilwara Kings fell short by 3 runs. 

And in the last match chasing 212 against Manipal Tigers, they finished with 122 for 8 with Simmons being dismissed for a duck. Though Tilakratne Dilshan was off to a flier with 26 off 16 at the top, others couldn’t keep the momentum going.

It is not just batting that will be a big concern for Irfan Pathan coming into this match. The bowlers have also been quite expensive and wicketless. There isn’t one bowler who’s been consistent with breakthroughs and can be the go-to bowler for the skipper.

Southern Super Stars Preview

Southern Super Stars will be backing themselves to gain the upper hand against Bhilwara Kings at this venue where they won their recent game. Though it wasn’t a great batting performance, the Stars will take a lot of confidence from that win.

Both openers Jesse Ryder and Upul Tharanga scored 30 runs each adding 60 runs for the opening partnership but at a strike rate of less than 100. But since the target was just 125 runs, this didn’t hurt Southern Super Stars.
