Gulbarga Mystics will take on an in-form Mysore Warriors in the 28th match of the Maharaja Trophy at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Mystics got off to a winning start but lost 3 consecutive matches after that.
They bounced back with 4 wins on the trot and are now well-placed to reach the semi-finals. They’ve been consistent in every department and their bowlers have been exceptional.
Gulbarga bowlers will pose a tough challenge to Mysore Warriors who have a solid batting lineup that has consistently delivered big scores. Skipper Karun Nair is in great form and will be a key player in the Mysore batting lineup.
While the openers have also made significant contributions for the Warriors, their middle and lower order has found its rhythm in recent games. Lankesh KS and Shivkumar Rakshith are the ones to watch out for lower down the order.
In the recent match, SU Karthik and R Samarth delivered a brilliant start for Mysore while chasing 213 runs.

Gulbarga Mystics have successfully chased down a total in each of their last 4 consecutive wins. Their bowlers deserve a major share of the credit for these wins as they managed to restrict the opposition to par and below-par scores.
In their recent win, the Mystics bowled out Bengaluru Blasters for just 113 runs and then chased it down in 15 overs. This run-chase wasn’t the best of their batting performances as they lost 5 wickets on their way to victory.
Their previous run-chases were much more convincing than this one. LR Chethan and R Prajwal have failed in the last two outings and need to make a comeback here.
The middle order of Macneil Hadley Noronha and Smaran R has been crucial to their recent wins building partnerships after the openers were back in the hut.
The batting lineup looks vulnerable lower down the order. Once the openers are back in the pavilion, there’s not much firepower left with only number 3 and 4 able to make a serious impact.
The bowlers hold the key to success for Gulbarga Mystics. Abhilash Shetty and skipper Vijaykumar Vyshak have led the attack with consistent performances.
However, there is variety in this attack and others like Sharan Goud, Avinash D, and Hardik Raj have also delivered match-winning spells for the Mystics.

Mysore Warriors have been exceptional with the bat and their recent performance while chasing a 213-run target was something truly special. The openers added 60 runs for the 1st wicket in just 29 balls.
Warriors had scored 88 runs off the first 6 Overs losing just 1 wicket. SU Karthik’s 70 off 30 balls was the highlight performance that set the right momentum for the run chase.
The in-form skipper Karun Nair played a ing role while Karthik was still on the crease but after his dismissal, Nair could not change gears. Lankesh KS and Shivkumar Rakshith who were in good touch failed to step up to the occasion and were out quickly.
There was pressure on every batter who came in to bat after Karthik’s dismissal. Jagdeesh Suchith and Shoaib Manager got going right from the first ball and kept Mysore’s hope alive.
Though the Warriors lost by 10 runs, one thing is clear - Mysore’s deep batting lineup has great potential and it won’t be easy for Gulbarga to set them a target.
However, the bowling is still a concern for Mysore going into this match. They’ve been very expensive for a long time now and it is the batting strength that will be crucial to their victory in this game.

The pitch is great for batting and we expect some big scores in both innings. Batters will find ample from the surface that allows them to play their strokes freely. There will be scattered thunderstorms in Bengaluru with a high of 30 degrees Celsius.
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be the venue for this encounter as two of the best-performing teams of the Maharaj Trophy meet for the second time this season. A 160-175 run total in the 1st innings can be easily chased down and the team batting first should be looking to score over 185 runs to be in a strong position to win the match.
Mysore have all the reasons to chase a score as they’ve got a deep batting lineup with reliable finishers. The opposition is coming in with an in-form bowling attack and the Warriors won’t like to let them play to their strength.
Vyshak also understands his team’s chances of winning are higher when the bowlers do a great job given his batting lineup isn’t deep and lacks big-hitting finishers.
Two of the best teams of the Maharaja Trophy will be up against each other. Gulbarga Mystics are far ahead of Mysore in the bowling department while the latter is far superior in the batting. It is a neck-to-neck competition between the two and we reckon toss would play a key role here.
Though Gulbarga Mystics have won back-to-back matches, Mysore Warriors have a strong batting lineup with many finishers in the lower order. In contrast, the Mystics lack any reliable finishers in their lineup. As such, Mysore Warriors would start with a slight edge in this contest and will be our favorite to win this match.
