Glamorgan Preview

After being bowled out for under 100 runs in two consecutive outings, Glamorgan scored 145 for 6 in their last match against Kent in just 13 Overs.

After being put to bat first in a rain-affected game, opening batsman William Smale got off to a flier with 18 runs off 8 balls. 

Though Kiran Carlsen scored at just about run-a-ball, Marnus Labuschagne and Colin Ingram went all guns blazing in the middle order. The two added 54 runs for the 4th wicket in just 19 balls.

This was a much-needed performance for Glamorgan after what happened in their previous innings. This should have boosted their confidence going into their last match of the T20 Blast 2024.

They need a similar performance from all these key players. They have a deep lineup with Chris Cooke and Daniel Douthwaite in the lower order. However, they've not been promising in recent matches.

Douthwaite is a key bowler, nonetheless. He was crucial in their recent win along with Timm van der Gugten. Labuschagne is also handy with the ball along with the right-arm medium Andy Gorvin.

Somerset Preview

Somerset are on a roll with 3 consecutive victories. A win here will be very handy going ahead. It will give them some confidence and momentum to take into the next phase of the domestic season.

Unfortunately, they will have to wait until September for the quarter-finals. Things like form and player availability would change by then. Nevertheless, they would like to finish the league stage on a winning note here in Cardiff.

Craig Overton, Riley Meredith, and Jack Leach will be the ones to watch out for in this bowling attack. They also have Jake Ball and skipper Lewis Gregory all raring to go and pick up some wickets.

There is variety in this attack and they’ve also found someone or the other stepping up to the occasion to deliver impactful spells. The batting lineup is solid with three Toms playing the major role.

Tom Banton, Tom Kohler-Core, and Tom Abell add great strength to this batting lineup in the top 4. All three of them are big-hitting batters with a solid reputation in T20 cricket and are currently in great touch.

Sean Dickinson and Lewis Gregory at 5 and 6 can add the finishing touches in the death overs. Overall, it is a balanced side and should be able to get past Glamorgan to reach the Quarter-Finals with a win.
