The games continue to come thick and fast in this CSA T20 Challenge and that is no problem for Lions who can't stop winning at the moment. Unfortunately, for the likes of Western Province, losing can become a habit and ahead of this game they don't really look like a side who knows where their next victory is coming from!
When the sides last met, Lions won by an incredible 132 runs after posting 213/2 and then bowling out Western Province for just 81. It could well be another one-sided affair on Wednesday but Western Province will be determined to avenge that result and batting performance.
Simply put, Lions are full of confidence with the likes of Reeza Hendricks, Nqabayomzi Peter and Junaid Dawood either in brilliant form in this tournament or with fond memories of their last head to head clash with Western Province. The problem for Western Province is that Hendricks applies to both of the above and is likely to be very hard to stop in this fixture.

There simply is no stopping Lions at the moment and even though four of their six batters used against Boland in Match 17 could only contribute single-figure scores, they were still able to win by six wickets with two balls remaining.
That is because at the moment Lions have that knack of having a player who can step up and provide a match-winning performance when it counts in every game. In the last fixture, that player was opener Reeza Hendricks who smashed four sixes and four fours as the South African international finished unbeaten on 72 not out from 50 balls.
With the ball in hand, spinner Junaid Dawood comes into this match in brilliant form after taking 13 wickets from his last four games. Although at the Wanderers Stadium, the pace of Lutho Sipamla could be a key weapon.

Although Western Province went down to their second successive defeat, and their third from their last four games, when they lost to Dolphins in Match 19, they were certainly competitive with both bat and ball so should come into this clash with some confidence.
Opener Jonathan Bird hit his first half-century of the tournament in the game with the young left-hander also scoring the most sixes (3) for his team alongside two fours. His fellow top-order team-mate Edward Moore was also in strong attacking form as was Mihlali Mpongwana who can always be relied upon to score quickly in the middle order.
Mpongwana then brought his stroke-making into the field and picked up a wicket with his first ball to leave Dolphins reeling on 16/2 in pursuit of 168. Ultimately they did get over the line but Mpongwana picked up three dismissals in the game and his pace could be a real threat in Johannesburg.
However, whether those positives above will be enough to stop this in-form Lions side, remains to be seen!

Thunderstorms are forecast in the Johannesburg area on Tuesday but dry conditions are expected on Wednesday evening for this game. This could mean a few damp spots in the outfield but there should not be anything which prevents a full match taking place.
The Wanderers Stadium has always been a ground where batters can play their shots but also one where the pace bowlers can send down rockets with the wicket-keeper likely to be far behind the stumps and collecting at a good height! Lions have already hit 239/4 on this surface in this tournament but anything over 175 should be more than competitive.
If there is to be any real assistance for the bowlers in this pitch it is likely to come in the first half of the game. This is due to potential thunderstorms on Tuesday so the pitch is likely to be covered to protect it. Therefore, we predict that both teams will arrive at the Wanderers Stadium wanting to bowl first.
With such a strong recent head to head record against Western Province, as well as a far superior record across their last four games in the tournament, we are expecting to see a comprehensive performance and victory for Lions in this clash.
