The ODI series was played with the carrot of picking up ICC ranking points and West Indies were delighted to get a 2-1 victory as they look to return to the top table of ODI cricket at the 2027 Cricket World Cup. But with no T20 World Cup for a couple of years, this series does not have the same goal to work towards.
Instead, expect West Indies to want to continue their momentum from the ODIs and for individual players to use this game and series as an opportunity to put themselves in the shop window ahead of the IPL Super Auction later in the month.
Although England will have star batter and captain Jos Buttler back in the side, they will again look a little under-strength as the selectors opt to provide experience to some young players.

After leading his side to the ODI series triumph, Shai Hope will return to the ranks as purely a keeper-batter in this series with the powerful middle-order batter Rovman Powell leading the team.
At the top of the order, both Brandon King and Evin Lewis impressed during the ODI series against England but also in the recent T20I series in Sri Lanka. The middle-order also looks strong although Romario Shepherd's big hitting ability at the end of the innings could be missed due to the injury he picked up on Wednesday.
Events on Wednesday will also play a role in West Indies' selections as Alzarri Joseph has been suspended for two games after showing disrespect to his captain and storming off the field of play during the ODI! We expect Matthew Forde, who has an excellent international record against England and won the Player of the Series award earlier this week, to lead the attack.

Pretty much any T20 team in the world would be boosted by the addition of Jos Buttler to their XI and England will be no different! After missing the Hundred, as well as ODIs and T20Is against Australia, not to mention the recently concluded ODI, this will be the skipper's first game since the end of June when England were knocked out of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Buttler, who has been out with a groin injury, will bat at the top of the order alongside Phil Salt with the latter taking on the wicket-keeping duties. The middle order of Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Jacob Bethell and Dan Mousley will all be looking to build on strong performances in the ODIs.
With the ball, Adil Rashid has a supreme record against West Indies in T20Is and Jofra Archer will be looking to add wickets to his strong economy performances during the ODIs.

The temperature is forecast to drop from the early thirties to the high twenties across this game and humidity levels will once again be very high throughout the match. There is a 30% chance of rain from start to finish of this T20I so it would not be a huge surprise if there were a couple of short intervals.

Although Australia did hit over 200 here in the recent T20 World Cup, there has only been one previous T20I in Barbados where any side has made a score of 200+. That said, both England and West Indies did so in that match in 2022.
We expect this pitch to have more pace and bounce than we saw in the third ODI on Wednesday evening.
With over 66% of T20Is here in Barbados won by the team batting first, we do not think it will be a tough decision for whichever captain calls correctly at the toss. We are predicting that both teams will want to bat first in this opening game of the series.
The return of Jos Buttler for England will certainly take them to a new level but West Indies have an excellent record at home in bi-lateral T20I series. Therefore we expect a close game in Barbados on Saturday but are backing West Indies to come out on top.
