Gulbarga Mystics will be up against Mysore Warriors once again with the stakes much higher this time around. Mystics have already lost twice to the Warriors in the league stage.
In the recent head-to-head battle between the two teams, Gulbarga ended up with 153 for 7 batting first. Mysore Warriors chased it down in 18 Overs with 8 wickets in hand.
Gulbarga quickly bounced back in the next game as the bowled first and chased a target of 145 runs. The openers scored a fifty each and the Mystics completed the run chase in the 16th Over with 8 wickets in hand.
While Mysore Warriors have an in-form top-order, the skipper hasn’t been in his best form lately. After consistent performances for a long time, Karun Nair seems to be struggling now.
And though Mystics have a deep lineup with Avinsash D and Srinivas Sharath at number 7 and 8, their top-order hasn’t been consistent. While both teams have a strong bowling attack, it is the Mystics who will be dependent on the bowlers to win the game.

Mysore Warriors played their last game of the league stage against Gulbarga Mystics and completely dominated the match in every department. They will be high on confidence and will carry the winning momentum.
Though the Warriors have won most of their recent matches while bowling first, they aren’t completely dependent on that. They have a reliable batting lineup that can post a highly competitive score even if they are put to bat first.
In their first match against Gulbarga this season, Mysore Warriors scored 198 runs batting first and then bowled out the Mystics for just 144 runs. And again in the recent match, the bowlers outplayed Gulbarga as they restricted them to just 153 for 7 bowling first.
J Suchith and Manoj Bhadange are the key bowlers in this lineup. Mysore Warriors have always found some or the other bowlers stepping up to the occasion and delivering match-winning performances.
In the last match, it was Kushaal Wadhawani who picked 2 for 17 in his 4 Overs. Not all the bowlers in this side have been consistent but they’ve managed to deliver a solid team effort.
SU Karthik and R Samarth are the big guns at the top in the Mysore lineup. These two are key to a big score. And though the skipper has struggled at number 3 in recent outings, he can bounce back and deliver a high-impact performance.
There are many reliable batters in the middle and lower order in this side and that does give the Warriors an edge over the Mystics.

Gulbarga Mystics will need a special effort from their players to beat Mysore Warriors. In both games against Mysore, the Mystics failed with the bat. And at this point, they will not be very delighted to be pitted against Mysore in the semi-final.
LR Chethan and Aneesh KV who scored a fifty each in the last match for Gulbarga Mystics will be the ones to watch out for. These two need to get off to a flying start to give their team a good chance of finishing on a high note.
While Macneil Hadley Noronha was out for a duck at number 3 in the last outing, he is a solid batsman with great ability. Smaran R is another crucial player in the middle order who’s delivered a few good knocks this season.
However, there isn’t anyone consistent in this lineup who can make a big impact like the openers and middle-order batters in the Mysore lineup. And this makes Mystics a little vulnerable when they bat first.
Bowling first allows their best performers, the bowlers, to do a great job and put Gulbarga in a winning position. Abhilash Shetty, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Hardik Raj are all in great form and have consistently delivered breakthroughs for the Mystics.

The pitch is great for batting and it was clear with the way teams batter in recent matches. Even Gulbarga Mystics pulled off a clinical win chasing a total in their last game. It is a tough challenge for the bowlers to deliver economical spells on this surface. The weather will be partly cloudy with a high of 31 degrees Celsius in Bengaluru.
Maharaja Trophy is in its business end and the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is all set to host the two semi-finals on the same day. A great venue for batting, it has been quite friendly to the Mystics’ bowling attack. The team batting first will be under pressure and against a threatening attack, will need to score at least 180+ runs to stay competitive.
Neither team will be looking to bat first. While Mysore Warriors can still pull off a win if they bat first, considering how good Gulbarga Mystics are with the ball, Karun Nair wouldn’t risk batting first against them. And as far as Mystics are concerned they’re dependent on their bowlers to gain the upper hand. And above all, it is a great venue for chasing in T20 cricket.
On paper, it seems like a close contest. Mysore Warriors are ahead in the batting department while Gulbarga Mystics have a superior bowling attack. There is a lack of consistency in the bowling of the Warriors and the batting of the Mystics. As such we would lean toward the team with in-form batters and a better head-to-head record in this contest.
Toss will play a key role and if Gulbarga Mystics bowl first, they can put the Warriors on the back foot and nudge ahead. But overall, we reckon Mysore Warriors will have the advantage and hence, start as favorites in our match prediction.
