New Zealand Preview

Sophie Devine's side isn't going through its best phase. The last twelve months have been tough for the side where they have struggled with consistency. They take on one of the strongest teams in this series. Devine would like to see her players take advantage of the home conditions and win this game.

Suzie Bates and Bernadine Bezuidenhout must deliver a good start at the top, as the English bowlers will test them. Devine must anchor the innings in the middle order with Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green. Georgia Plimmer and Hannah Rowe are good hitters and will look to add quick runs in the final overs.

The bowling attack has struggled with form in recent games, and the side needs early wickets from Jess Kerr and Hannah Rowe. Lea Tahuhu and Fran Jonas have to trouble the English batters in the middle overs. Devine and Eden Carson will look to deliver a good show in the ing role.

New Zealand Predicted Playing XI:

Sophie Devine (c), Suzie Bates, Bernadine Bezuidenhout (wk), Amelia Kerr, Georgia Plimmer, Hannah Rowe, Jess Kerr, Lea Tahuhu, Eden Carson, Fran Jonas, Maddy Green

New Zealand Actual Playing XI:

Suzie Bates, Brooke Halliday, Isabella Gaze, Fran Jonas, Jess Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Hannah Rowe, Lea Tahuhu, Maddy Green, Mikaela Greig, Georgia Plimmer

England Women Preview

Heather Knight's team will go into this game with confidence. The side defeated India during their last tour of the subcontinent, and the players will look to draw inspiration from that performance. They have a good record against New Zealand Women, and Knight would like to see her players do well and take an early lead in the series.

Several changes have been made to this team, and the side expects a good start from Sophia Dunkley and Maia Bouchier. They need a good show from Hollie Armitage, Tammy Beaumont, and Heather Knight in the middle order. Danielle Gibson, Amy Jones, and Sarah Glenn strengthen the lower middle order.

The bowling attack will look to use the conditions, and they will need a good show with the new ball from Charlotte Dean and Lauren Filler. Sarah Glenn and Lauren Bell will look to do well in the middle overs and keep the Kiwi scoring rate under check. Danielle Gibson and Dunkley add strength to this attack.

England Women Predicted Playing XI:

Heather Knight (c), Maia Bouchier, Amy Jones (wk), Danielle Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Charlotte Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Lauren Bell, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Filler, Hollie Armitage

England Women Actual Playing XI:

Maia Bouchier, Heather Knight, Sophia Dunkley, Danielle Gibson, Tammy Beaumont, Bess Heath, Amy Jones, Lauren Bell, Charlie Dean, Lauren Filer, Sarah Glenn

Weather Conditions

It will be a cold and overcast afternoon at Dunedin. Batting would be challenging on this wicket as the ball is expected to move sideways. Fast bowlers will enjoy bowling on this surface, and we expect a score in the range of 150 runs to be a good one on this surface.

NZW vs ENGW Pitch Report

The pitch at University Oval, Dunedin, is tricky to bat on as it assists the fast bowlers. The shorter square boundaries are an advantage to the batters as they can easily score runs. It is a wicket that evens it out between the batsmen and the bowlers.

Toss: To Bowl

We expect early moisture to be on the surface, and the bowlers will look to exploit it. Batting would get easy as the game progresses. Most teams prefer to chase in this format, and the side that wins the toss should have no hesitation in opting to bowl first.

New Zealand Women have struggled at home and away in recent months. The side has batted poorly and paid the price. They will have a tough challenge in this game and need their batters to deliver the goods. England Women have been in good form, and their batters are in good form. It gives them a big edge in the game.
